            This course introduces students to the use of information technology in the business environment.  Students will learn how to  perform electronic research, communicate electronically, and use common business software for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations and web page design. The course will prepare students for a world of business and communication that relies increasingly on electronic technology, an area also undergoing continuous change.

Assignments and Tests will include evaluation in the following areas:  Knowledge/Understanding, Thinking/Inquiring, Communication, Application.


Student Expectations

  1. Be here, be on time, do your work, and you'll do well.
     

  2. You must have your own login and password to access our network. If you forget yours or don’t have one, see your teacher immediately. NEVER TELL ANYONE YOUR PASSWORD!!!
     

  3. Only books and a pencil case with supplies are allowed in class; no food, drinks, gum, knapsacks, MP3 players, cell phones, etc.
     

  4. Check our course website everyday for homework and other information.
     
  5. If you have not finished an assignment that must be done at school, go to Study Hall in the library after school or arrange with your teacher to come in to complete it before the due date.
     

  6. Immediately report to your teacher any computer problems or damage to avoid assuming responsibility.  If you see another student intentionally damaging property, report the incident to your teacher.
     

  7. You need a binder organized into the following sections.  8 dividers will be needed and are to be labeled as follows:
  1. Missed Test or Assignment:

    1. If you know in advance that you will be absent let the teacher know immediately.

    2. If you sign in after class see the teacher that day to write a test you missed or hand in any assignment due on that day.

    3. When absent for an entire day be prepared to write a missed test/hand in assignment on the day of your return.

    4. If you are absent for an extended period of time see your teacher to arrange a date to write a missed test/hand in assignments.
       
  2. All students will write the final exam. A doctor’s certificate must be presented if you miss an exam and your exam date will be rescheduled.
