TGJ3M Culminating Activity:

Website Portfolio

Objective:

You will use Dreamweaver to create a digital portfolio of the work that you have created in Communications Technology. The Website project is an opportunity for you to showcase all (or most) of the practical skills that you have learned during the course of the semester, and integrate them in a cohesive manner.

Website Requirments:

Your site should consist of at least 5 pages

• an index (home) page
• photography page
• video page
• animation page
• multi-media page

In addittion to the above pages, your site will include an “About me”/Bio section: This may be its own page, or a component of your home page.

Additional pages are allowed and may be necessary to appropriately convey content. Any additional pages must meet the design criteria detailed below:

Website Design Criteria:

• Site should exhibit strong design: proper use of background, font, and colors, clear and consistent layout, and professional in appearance. Remember the Elements & Principles of Design
• Each page must have an appropriate title
• Site should include images and graphics that you created—this can be a digital photo, or graphics/artwork created by you.
• You may use other images, but they must be referenced using the Image Reference Sheet and they must not violate copyright laws.
• Site should be free of grammatical/spelling errors.
• Each page must have a consistent, user-friendly navigation menu containing functional links to all other main pages.
• All links should be correctly hyperlinked and working.
• Your website must include an email link and “last updated” information.

Details for Each Page:

Home page

• should be saved as “index.html.”
• the design and content of this page will vary depending on your personal style of expression.
• general requirements above apply for the elements you include.

Photography, Video, Animation, Multi-Media Page

• these pages provide you with an opportunity to showcase the professional work you have done.
• include the work that you have created this semester.
• work should be appropriately organized and displayed, described, and introduced in a way to make the portfolio appropriate and appealing.

“About me”/Bio section

This may be its own page, or a component of your home page. To enhance portfolio credibility, the author should provide background information about him- or herself, so do this by describing yourself. This section should be professional in nature and informative enough to ensure that your site’s accountability is not called into question. By reading this section , any viewer of the site can be reasonably informed about its authorship as well as obtain a glimpse of your “personality.”
