Introduction Possible Career Paths can be organized in a variety of ways. One method is to list careers according to favorite subjects taken in school (Activity 1). What careers suit you best can be determined by finding out which careers match the courses you excel in. Another way to organize career paths is according to industry groupings. For example, people who are interested in health services would most likely look for employment as physicians, nurses, paramedics etc. In Activity 2 you will identify possible/related career paths according to industry groupings available at the National Occupational Classification website. Activity 3 asks students to contrast each approach and to select; with explanation, which approach is better able to help students find the career path that is right for them. |
