Graduation letter 2017

Graduates will receive details, along with 3 tickets* for entry and seating for the Main Auditorium, in their Graduation Invitation. GRADUATES DO NOT NEED A TICKET - YOUR SEAT IS RESERVED!
Graduation Invitations were distributed at Grad Breakfast . Students can collect their Invitation and tickets from Mrs. Goldwin (once your 40 hours have been submitted).

WHAT:  Commencement Ceremony, aka GRAD
WHERE:  Bethany Community Church, 1388 Third St., St. Catharines
WHEN: Wednesday, June 28, 2017.
Registration Table for Grads 5:15 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. (Every Grad needs to be checked in at the Registration Table at this time; once you are registered you will proceed backstage and you will not be available to family and friends until after the ceremony).
The official ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m.
WHY: To celebrate, to honour, and to recognize the achievements of our SWC Graduates as they prepare to leave secondary school and move on to their next journey.
*In order to ensure that each parent/guardian of each graduate is able to secure a seat in the Main Auditorium, 3 tickets are being assigned to each graduate for his/her parents/guardians.  

The ceremony will be live-streamed from the Main Auditorium into other seating/viewing areas at Bethany (e.g. Fireside Room, Cafe, Lobby) and all are welcome to join the SWC staff at one of these viewing areas. 

If a graduate has 4 parents/guardians, the graduate must speak directly with Ms. Siemiaszko (do not leave her a message!) a.s.a.p. and definitely before Friday, June 23, 2017. Additional parent/guardian ticket requests WILL NOT be accepted after this date.  

("What if I only have 1 or 2 parents/guardians, and I have 3 tickets?".  We believe that the graduate should decide how their 3 tickets for the Main Auditorium ceremony are assigned.)

-Buying the yearbook: “Reminder that the deadline to purchase a yearbook is June 20th. Go to jostens.com, click on “yearbook”, click “buy a yearbook”, enter your school name and info, and then make your purchase of $55. Deadline is June 20th.” 
-Grad quotes and superlatives. “The deadline to submit your grad quotes and superlatives is June 1st. The link to the form to submit is on the school website. If you don’t submit by this deadline you won’t get a grad quote.” 
-Team photo day: “Team photo day is on June 6th. More details on the schedule will be posted shortly, be sure to bring spirit wear from your respective teams and clubs!"
-Grad casuals: "If you and your friends want to get your grad casuals taken, either take it on your own time and email it at sirwinstonchurchillyearbook@gmail.com OR sign yourselves up to have the yearbook committee take it between now and the 16th at lunch. Be creative!"
-Submitting photos: "If you have any pictures that you would like to be included in the yearbook, email it to sirwinstonchurchillyearbook@gmail.com"

Flowers and graduation paraphernalia will be available for purchase by an independent vendor as congratulatory gifts for the grads at a kiosk at Bethany Church.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of these items helps to fund the SWC Blue and Gold Awards, which are presented to six graduating students who have contributed significantly to life at Sir Winston Churchill through their extra-curricular involvement and their academic achievement.  Recipients must embody at least one characteristic of "SPIRIT":  sincerity, perseverance, involvement, responsibility, integrity, and tolerance.

Extra Grad Tickets Requests
Great news, Grads - your extra ticket requests have been approved! See Ms. Siemiaszko or Ms. Hunt in Guidance to collect your extra ticket(s).

Doors Open...
Grads must arrive between 5:15-5:45pm for their "Check in/Registration" with Guidance in the Lobby(REMEMBER TO WEAR YOUR GRAD GOWN - CAPS ARE OPTIONAL) They will immediately proceed to the backstage area.  Leave your valuables with your guests.  

After registration closes, and we have taken a breath (!), the Auditorium doors will open for Guests (REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR TICKETS!).  Please be mindful that we will be close to capacity and that guests may be asked to shift over a seat or two as we try to accommodate all groups.  

Additional viewing areas in the lobby, fireside room, and cafe are available to all, and require no tickets.
