JUNE 19 - Please pick up your extra grad ticket (if you requested one) asap from Ms. Siemiaszko in Guidance.

Please pick up your grad gown from Guidance after your exam on Thursday/Friday.

AUDITORIUM SEATING and OUTSIDE SEATING at BETHANY
A reminder to friends and family that there is LOTS of space at Bethany Church for guests.  It's just the Auditorium area that is limited and requires a ticket for entry. 

Auditorium guests, please plan for a full house; seating cannot be reserved.  Doors will open as soon as all grads have been registered.  Latecomers will most likely not be able to sit together in the Auditorium.  The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m..

JUNE 18 - A note from Ms. Gilmore...

Dear Parents/Guardians of Sir Winston 2019 Graduates,

Ms. Siemaszko and I have reviewed the list of requests for extra grad tickets.  We had 172 requests for extra tickets, but only 90 to hand out. 

We gave each student who requested a ticket one extra, and then we drew names for what was remaining. 

Although you cannot enter the theatre without a ticket, I wanted to reassure everyone that there is ample room in the building for additional guests.  Do not hesitate to bring extra family members because they will have a choice of watching the grad on a big screen in the Fireside Room, The Foyer or The Cafe. Staff, for example, watch the ceremony from the Foyer.  Additional guests at Grad.pdf 

I look forward to seeing everyone on the 26th.  There is a wonderful energy in the school and the weather is finally turning to summer. Lot's to celebrate!

JUNE 14 - Grad Gowns will be distributed in Guidance, from 12:05 p.m. - 12:30 p.m., beginning Monday, June 17th.  Students MUST have completed the Grad Data Google Doc (link above) before lining up!  No Doc = No Gown!  We will continue to distribute gowns at lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday.  

JUNE 13 - IF you are not using all 3 of your grad tickets, please return them to Ms. Siemiaszko OR see her for a list of students requesting more! IF you've received extra tickets from a friend, & we can remove your extra grad ticket request, please see Ms. Siemiaszko asap!

JUNE 12 - Potential Grads:  Last call to correct/change your name for the Grad Program and any awards/certificates! 
Check the list outside of Guidance this week and see Ms. Mossman by Friday if changes are needed. 
LEGAL names MUST be used for your Diploma and Transcript. 

JUNE 12 - NOTE THE DATE which differs from the Grad Info insert in your Grad envelope!!!  If a graduate has 4 parents/guardians, or other extenuating family circumstances, the graduate must speak directly with Ms. Siemiaszko (do not leave her a message!) after Grad Invitations have been distributed and definitely before Monday, June 17th.   After Monday, June 17th, all extra ticket requests will be considered and extra tickets will be distributed to students that week.  

Additional parent/guardian ticket requests WILL NOT be accepted after this time and once the process is complete.  

("What if I only have 1 or 2 parents/guardians, and I have 3 tickets, which means that I have extras?".  The graduate may decide how his/her 3 tickets for the Main Auditorium ceremony are assigned.)

JUNE 6 - "I didn't get an offer..."  https://www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-101/ais/  The Admission Information Service 2019 is now LIVE and it allows you to determine which Ontario universities have places available in first-year undergraduate programs.


June 6th - GRAD BREAKFAST
Enjoy pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit cup, coffee AND the company of your fellow graduates and SWC staff as we begin the celebrations of your upcoming graduation!

8:30-9:20a.m.
SWC Caf 
No tickets required. Enter via UPSTAIRS cafeteria doors. Grad Envelopes (containing the Grad Invitation, Grad tickets, and Grad Info sheet) will be distributed to PGs as they enter the upper Caf. PGs will need to show this envelope at the door in order to get into the Aud. for the Grad Assembly after breakfast.  No 40 hours = No Brekkie and No Assembly

May 30th - Check the GRAD LIST outside of Guidance to confirm the spelling of your name and expected certificates (e.g. French, Business, Tech, SHSM). See Ms. Mossman asap if there are errors or omissions.

Grads need to complete the Google Doc BEFORE they can collect their gowns. 

General Grad Info:

Graduates will receive details, along with 3 tickets* for entry and seating for the Main Auditorium, in their Graduation Invitation. GRADUATES DO NOT NEED A TICKET - YOUR SEAT IS RESERVED!
Graduation Invitations will distributed on June 6th. Invitations are distributed only to those students whose record indicates successful completion of the Community Involvement graduation requirement.

WHO:
 SWC Graduates, Class of 2019
WHAT:  Commencement Ceremony, aka GRAD
WHERE:  Bethany Community Church, 1388 Third St., St. Catharines
WHEN: Wednesday, June 26, 2019.
Registration for Grads 5:15 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. (Every Grad needs to be checked in at the Registration Line at this time; once you are registered you will proceed backstage and you will not be available to family and friends until after the ceremony).
The official ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m.
WHY: To celebrate, to honour, and to recognize the achievements of our SWC Graduates as they prepare to leave secondary school and move on to their next journey.
*In order to ensure that each parent/guardian of each graduate is able to secure a seat in the Main Auditorium, 3 tickets are being assigned to each graduate for his/her parents/guardians.  

The ceremony will be live-streamed from the Main Auditorium into other seating/viewing areas at Bethany (e.g. Fireside Room, Cafe, Lobby) and all are welcome to join the SWC staff at one of these viewing areas.
